The 93 karwan bazar of the capital became loud with the chorous of steps of the district and upazila correspondents of Vorer Pata and People's Time on Thursday. From dawn, the Vorer Pata office became festive. The whole office turned into a reunion. In the second part of this representative conference, they also got Dr. Kazi Ertaza Hassan (CIP),the Editor and publisher of Vorer Pata and People's Time. Rafiqul Islam Ratan, a well-known journalist who joined the Vorer Pata family as an Advisory Editor, added a new dimension to this joy.
The members of Vorer Pata family have pledged to take Vorer Pata and People’s to the readers with new initiative, new ideas and bring the progress of development of the country to their homes by overcoming the long stagnation due to pandemic. Dr. Kazi Ertaza Hassan (CIP),the Editor and publisher of Vorer Pata and People's Time also welcomed the enthusiasm and initiative of all and said, "We have been fighting for 17 years. The current media is having a hard time. I don't take a single taka from the Vorer Pata and People's Time. We are working with all our strength in favour of liberation war."
He says, the history of civilization says that people can never do anything alone. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the Bengali nation, did nothing alone. He called on the nation on March 7 for the independence of a country, uniting all. The Bengalis achieved independence by using that united force. I am a businessman. But I have published the magazine without thinking of material gain. I have built a platform. It must be used for the welfare of the people. The members of Vorer Pata family spread all over the country will work for the welfare of the country through this platform, talk about liberation war, talk about Bangabandhu, talk about development. At the same time, will unselfishly convey the development to the people that is going on under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina.
The second episode of correspondent conference of of Daily Vorer Pata and The Daily People's Time was held at Karwan Bazar office at 10 am. The first episode of the correspondents' conference of was held on 3 January. The meeting was chaired by the newspaper's editor and publisher Dr. Kazi Ertaza Hassan CIP. The meeting was attended by Rafiqul Islam Ratan, newly appointed advisory editor of Vorer Pata and People's Time and the editor of Bonik Bangladesh, the another newspaper of Southwestern Media. Rahman Mufiz, news editor, Jannatul Ferdous Chowdhury Sohel, country editor, special correspondent Utpal Das, senior reporter Ratan Balo, ,Al-amin, online in-charge, Shakhawat Hossain Khan, Head of Marketing, Md.Tushar Imran, Head of Admin, reporter Arifur Rahman and others. Correspondents of different bureaus, districts and upazilas took part in it. Kazi Hedayet Hossain Raj, Editor-in-Chief of Vorer Pata and People's Time conducted the meeting. At the beginning of the conference, Shahidul Islam recited from the Holy Quran.
Dr. Kazi Ertaza Hassan said, "Our life has started to become normal during the Corona War." In these difficult times, the government has kept the overall situation of the country under control and has continued the progress of development. Visible changes are taking place in the development of the country. We have to leave all the crises behind and turn around in this changed Bangladesh. Otherwise we will fail to keep pace. Calling for ensuring accountability of every journalist of Vorer Pata family, he said it was the responsibility of the journalists to bring out the problems and opportunities in the marginal areas. They have to try to highlight Bangladesh. I want to assure you, we have a crisis, there will be a crisis. Even in the midst of these crises, the publication of Vorer Pata and People's Time will not stop. We are committed to tackling all issues and delivering the Vorer Pata and People's Time to our readers every day. At the same time, he commented that Vorer Pata Online is also providing news as per the demand of the readers."
Rafiqul Islam Ratan, advisory editor of Vorer Pata and People's Time, called for a focus on digital law and the Cyber Crimes Act and said, in the era of information and technology newspaper is being captured by the social media, electronics and on-line media. People are becoming increasingly dependent on online. The print media is on the verge of destruction with the touch of modernity. We no longer have to be trapped in the traditional print media. It is necessary to increase the confidence of the readers towards the newspaper by providing news related to the interests of the country and the people and by adopting timely methods. Each delegate must dig into the history of their respective areas, including the history, heritage, culture, education, sports, lost and submerged. People's problems and fame should be highlighted.
Calling on all those present at the conference to provide objective news, he said, "People can be benefited, people can be happy and the sad story of the neglected people of the society has to be told." Work for Vorer Pata and people's time. Speaking about being a model journalist, he added, "I am a man from a remote village." Referring to the present world of journalism, he said that the journalists of the past had established a place of honor in the society by working with understanding. At that time the names of the journalists were uttered with utmost respect. But now journalists are lagging behind in that respect. He said corruption and irregularities were taking place in the name of development of different areas. The number of journalists writing against this irregularity and corruption has decreased at an alarming rate. Journalists need to be more courageous to write about problems.
The first half of the correspondent’s conference was an open discussion. In the beginning, a minute of silence was observed in honor of the death of many members of due to COVID-19.
